Maps Field Coordinator

Overview

Apple Maps supports hundreds of millions of devices globally with advanced ground truth data gathered by the Maps Global Collection team through specialized imagery systems. These efforts underpin key functionalities such as Drive and Walk Navigation, LookAround Imagery, and Indoor Maps.

We are in search of a proactive and versatile individual to join our Maps Global Collection team in Asia-Pacific. This role combines vendor support, data review, reporting, and maintenance of mapping equipment and vehicle fleets. Approximately 80% of your duties will focus on Vendor Management with the remaining 20% dedicated to logistics tasks.

Role Description

You will aid Maps data-collection initiatives adhering strictly to Field Operations procedures. While this is not a technical position, it demands strong problem-solving abilities and collaboration with engineering and external stakeholders to organize collection strategies, track progress, and assess collection team performance.

On a daily basis, responsibilities include liaising with internal teams and external partners to coordinate vendor requests and manage warehouse inventories, ensuring timely delivery of Apple devices and equipment between locations. Your analytical skills will support review of collection map data and generation of performance insights.

The role offers exposure to global teams, vendor relationships, documentation production, and process enhancement efforts.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BSc) is mandatory.
• Competency in Operations, Project, and Inventory management.
• Detail-oriented with a process-driven mindset.
• Strong organizational skills managing extensive datasets and competing priorities to deliver quality results on time.
• Adaptability to change while upholding consistent work standards.
• Robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities, able to present findings and issues succinctly.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to enforce protocols and facilitate remote team collaboration.
• Self-motivated with strong time and project management, and a sense of urgency.
• Willingness to manage physical hardware, calibrate equipment, and maintain precise inventory records.
• Familiarity with Apple products including iOS devices, Smartphones, Tablets, and Macs.
• Proficient in productivity software such as Numbers, Pages, Keynote, and Microsoft Excel.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese; Japanese language skills are advantageous.
• Preparedness for occasional international travel (up to 25%) for vendor training, typically 1-2 week assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Academic background in Geospatial Intelligence or Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
• Experienced in using ArcGIS.
• Background in digital mapping.
• Previous exposure to vendor management.
