Light Truck Driver

About the Role

TC Traders, a premium supplier of doormats, carpets, and flooring rolls, is seeking a responsible and skilled Light Vehicle Driver based in Thiruvottiyur, Chennai. This position involves managing company vehicle operations including product delivery, material collection, and ensuring all transportation tasks are completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the company’s light vehicle safely to deliver mats, carpets, flooring rolls, and related products to customers.
• Collect materials from suppliers and transport them reliably to the company warehouse.
• Assist with loading and unloading goods as needed, ensuring safe handling.
• Adhere to the designated delivery schedules and routes to fulfill logistical requirements.
• Verify correct delivery to customers along with obtaining acknowledgements, invoices, and necessary documentation.
• Support warehouse and sales teams during loading and delivery processes.
• Maintain cleanliness and good mechanical condition of the vehicle, regularly checking fuel, tires, oil, brakes, and other essentials.
• Immediately report any vehicle issues, accidents, damages, or maintenance needs.
• Comply with traffic regulations and company safety guidelines consistently.
• Exhibit professional conduct and maintain good relations with customers and suppliers.
• Perform additional transportation-related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Possession of a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) Driving Licence.
• Prior driving experience is favored.
• Sound knowledge of Chennai and surrounding areas.
• Competence in using GPS technology such as Google Maps for navigation.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and responsibility.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to engage customers professionally.
• Physical fitness adequate for assisting with loading and unloading tasks.
• Clean driving record without major traffic violations or serious driving offences.
