Role overview
IHG Hotels & Resorts is hiring a Lifeguard to help keep the swimming pool area safe, clean, and well managed in Saudi Arabia. This position involves close guest interaction, active safety supervision, and readiness to respond to emergencies in line with hotel procedures.
What you will do
- Keep the public notice board accurate and up to date.
- Ensure the pool and surrounding area remain clean through vacuuming, scrubbing, and general upkeep.
- Check pool-cleaning tools and equipment regularly, and report faults to maintenance when required.
- Welcome guests, guide them to lounge chairs, and provide towels.
- Maintain valid First Aid and CPR certification at all times.
- Know and follow the hotel’s emergency response process, especially for drowning incidents, cyclones, and storms.
- Watch over children’s swimming activities during peak season and continuously monitor guest safety.
- Stay knowledgeable about property safety, first aid, fire, and emergency procedures, and use equipment safely and responsibly.
- Take prompt action when a hazardous condition is identified and inform supervisors about possible risks.
- Record security incidents and accidents according to hotel procedures.
Requirements
- Strong spoken and written English skills.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts and handle varied duties.
- At least 1 year of experience in a comparable 4- to 5-star hotel environment.
- Valid First Aid certificate.
- Current lifeguard licence.
