The position focuses on large-scale environments such as premium commercial developments and urban public spaces, with close attention to how landscape solutions perform in hot, dry climates.
You will work alongside multidisciplinary teams to shape design outcomes that combine planting, irrigation, exterior lighting, and both hardscape and softscape elements. The role also involves project review, construction supervision, and technical problem-solving to ensure the work is practical, compliant, and aligned with the intended design vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the design and oversight of landscape works, covering planting design, irrigation, outdoor lighting, and hardscape/softscape components.
- Check drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to confirm buildability, code compliance, and consistency with project requirements.
- Read and interpret detailed contract documentation, including plans, technical specifications, and submittals.
- Provide technical guidance on selecting plant species suited to arid conditions and local environmental factors.
- Contribute to urban landscape and public realm design for high-end commercial areas and streetscapes.
- Oversee landscape construction activities to maintain quality, design intent, and compliance with standards and specifications.
- Help prepare reports, design packages, and submissions that include conceptual and illustrative material.
- Use advanced digital design and visualization tools to develop and document landscape concepts.
- Spot design or construction issues early and recommend practical, workable solutions.
- Coordinate effectively with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a closely related field.
- At least 10 years of experience working on large-scale landscape projects across both design and construction phases.
- Strong understanding of applicable codes and standards covering landscape design, planting, irrigation, lighting, and hardscape/softscape works.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex contractual documents, including drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Experience reviewing design documents and site installations for constructability and compliance.
- Practical knowledge of plant selection and landscape design for arid terrain and dry climates.
- Background in urban landscape design and supervision, including premium commercial environments.
- Experience preparing reports and design submissions with conceptual and illustrative content.
- Advanced proficiency in Vectorworks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office applications, and modern digital imaging/visualization tools.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
- Comfortable working within multicultural, multidisciplinary project teams.
- Must have MME.
- PMP certification is preferred.
- Experience in the GCC region and familiarity with its cultural heritage is preferred.
