Position Overview
Notting Hill & Ealing High School, part of the Girls' Day School Trust and a leading independent girls' day school in London, is seeking a diligent and well-organized Laboratory Technician to join its vibrant Science Department starting September 2026. This full-time role operates during term time, with working hours from 8:15 AM to 4:15 PM plus an additional five days annually. The salary scale ranges from £30,291 to £35,000 full-time equivalent, with a pro-rata salary between £24,696 and £28,536.
Role Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be integral to supporting the delivery of high-quality practical science education across all key stages. Duties include preparing and managing practical experiments and demonstrations in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, ensuring all activities are safe and run efficiently. Collaboration with teaching staff to develop innovative and stimulating science lessons and contributing ideas for practical activities is expected. Maintaining the department’s equipment inventory and performing upkeep to laboratory instruments are also key responsibilities.
Candidate Requirements
Prospective applicants should have experience working within a laboratory environment and have completed science education to at least the A Level standard. Strong organizational competencies combined with proficient IT skills are essential. This opportunity is suited to seasoned science technicians aiming to advance their careers or science graduates with substantial laboratory experience seeking to begin their journey in education. Candidates with backgrounds in Biology or Physics are particularly encouraged to apply, though all qualified candidates are welcome.

Additional Information
