About O’Shaughnessy Asset Management

Department Overview
OSAM's Quant Technology team collaborates closely with researchers, portfolio managers, and developers to deliver data-driven investment solutions employing modern technology platforms such as CANVAS®. This highly technical and research-focused group works on innovative portfolio construction, analytics, and financial technology initiatives.
Role Responsibilities
- Collaborate directly with senior developers and researchers to integrate and enhance research data workflows and models.
- Develop and design software using C#, Python, and SQL ensuring stability and scalability.
- Create robust data pipelines sourcing from diverse data inputs of varying quality, supporting research demands, client analytical ad-hoc requests, and core production applications.
- Work alongside researchers, portfolio managers, and quantitative analysts to implement, support, and operate portfolio models.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline.
- Strong foundation in computer science principles, data structures, and algorithms.
- Up to one year of professional programming experience.
- Experience with C#, Python, and SQL in SQL Server environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio development (including VS Community editions).
- Understanding of source control tools, preferably Git.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical abilities with high attention to detail.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Prior experience in financial services, particularly asset management.
- Exposure to front office roles collaborating with researchers and portfolio managers.
- Advanced degree is advantageous.
- Knowledge of financial markets.
- Experience with DevOps methodologies, including CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
- Familiarity with Azure development technologies.
Work Schedule and Location
This position is based in New York City with a hybrid work arrangement requiring onsite presence three days per week.
Compensation and Benefits
The role offers a competitive salary expected between $105,000 and $120,000 annually, influenced by location and relevant experience, plus a discretionary annual bonus.
