Janitor

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Janitor is tasked with ensuring cleanliness across all laboratory areas and floors, including the removal of garbage and waste materials from several office locations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning tasks for offices and lunchrooms, including the daily disposal of garbage.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of washrooms, replenishing supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels as needed.
• Conduct regular cleaning of lab areas and floors on a daily basis.
• Remove garbage and general waste from various departments, excluding the digestion section.
• Adhere strictly to occupational health and safety laws, organizational policies (including BV Group and Upstream Minerals Management System), and ISO standards relevant to this role.
• Demonstrate safe work practices by wearing appropriate clothing and using mandated personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Complete other duties as assigned by management.

Experience and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent educational completion.
• Previous janitorial work experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Proficient in verbal and written English.
• Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
• Ability to operate both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
