Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned IT Infrastructure Engineer to support a hybrid IT environment encompassing project locations and centralized systems. This essential role ensures the stability, security, and efficiency of both physical and cloud-based infrastructures. You will be working with on-premises hardware and Microsoft Azure platforms, sustaining technological frameworks that span multiple geographic sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, and maintain on-site IT infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
• Manage and oversee IT environments at project sites, including connectivity, wireless network setups, and end-user devices.
• Facilitate commissioning of IT infrastructure at new project locations.
• Deploy and manage Microsoft Azure resources such as Virtual Machines, networking, and storage assets.
• Support and troubleshoot hybrid infrastructures connecting on-site and cloud environments.
• Maintain Azure VPN connections to ensure secure remote access.
• Monitor and enhance cloud infrastructure performance.
• Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues across various sites.
• Ensure dependable, secure links between project sites and centralized systems.
• Collaborate with ISPs and third-party vendors to sustain uninterrupted network availability.
• Conduct maintenance tasks including patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management of IT systems.
• Implement and enforce infrastructure security protocols alongside internal security teams.
• Support backup, restoration, and disaster recovery mechanisms.
• Maintain asset inventories and produce technical documentation for IT systems and solutions.
• Provide reports on system health, usability, and incidents.
• Work with IT teams, project managers, site staff, vendors, and support service providers for efficient issue resolution and user assistance.

Required Skills and Experience

• Solid expertise in managing on-premises infrastructure including servers, networking hardware, and end-user devices.
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Azure components such as virtual machines, storage, and networking.
• Familiarity with hybrid environments integrating on-premises and cloud systems.
• In-depth networking knowledge covering routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting complex infrastructure and connectivity problems.
• Additional assets include experience with Azure networking technologies like VPN and ExpressRoute, automation or scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Azure tools), and a good understanding of infrastructure security best practices.
