Job description

Position Overview

Trident Staff is looking for an experienced IT Business Development Manager to lead client acquisition efforts within the Canadian staffing and workforce solutions sector. This role is fully remote and compensated solely through commissions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify and acquire new staffing clients throughout Canada.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with enterprises, consulting agencies, MSP/VMS programs, and direct corporate customers.
  • Drive new business generation using methods like cold calling, LinkedIn outreach, networking, referrals, and targeted sales initiatives.
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline aimed at sustainable revenue growth.

Workforce Solutions Promotion

  • Market Trident Staff's offerings including contract staffing, contract-to-hire, permanent placement, and project-based or Statement of Work (SOW) contracts.

Enterprise Client Engagement

  • Collaborate with HR, Talent Acquisition, Procurement, Operations, and IT stakeholders to foster relationships.
  • Manage enterprise procurement processes including MSP and VMS environments.
  • Lead client meetings, negotiate terms, and oversee the full sales cycle from prospecting through closing contracts.
  • Keep CRM data, pipeline status, and sales forecasts accurate and current.

Experience and Skills

  • At least 5 years of business development experience within staffing or recruitment.
  • Proven record of success selling IT staffing and workforce solutions in the Canadian market.
  • Strong knowledge of staffing models: contract, contract-to-hire, permanent recruitment, and project engagements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and consultative sales capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with enterprise clients, consulting firms, MSP/VMS programs, or implementation partners.
  • Established network of HR, Talent Acquisition, Procurement, or IT decision-makers in Canada is advantageous.
  • Self-driven, results-oriented, and comfortable with commission-based compensation.
  • Availability to work during Canadian business hours.
