Installed Base Services Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer specializing in the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of low and medium voltage electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have direct experience working with switchboards, protection relays, transformers, and modern electrical test equipment, ideally with Schneider Electric technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, test, and commission LV and MV AIS/GIS switchboards, preferably those manufactured by Schneider Electric.
• Conduct testing procedures on current transformers (CTs), voltage transformers (VTs), circuit breakers (CBs), and associated power system components.
• Handle the installation, testing, and commissioning processes for power transformers.
• Perform functional tests, logic validations, and verification checks on electrical protection systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in both electromechanical and numerical protection relays, with preference to Schneider Electric types such as Micom, Sepam, and Tesys-T.
• Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot circuit breakers and switchboards effectively.
• Analyze and identify faults within electrical networks using a structured problem-solving approach.
• Utilize modern electrical testing equipment, particularly Omicron devices, to carry out tests.
• Apply understanding of PLC logic to support testing, troubleshooting, and system optimization where applicable.
• Maintain thorough documentation including test results, commissioning reports, and service records.
• Adhere to safety protocols, company policies, and best industry practices at all times.
• Provide on-site technical assistance and customer support at client locations.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and project teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Qualifications and Skills

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• Demonstrated experience with LV/MV AIS/GIS switchboards, especially Schneider Electric products.
• Proficient knowledge of testing CT, VT, and CB components.
• Strong understanding of electromechanical and numerical protection relays.
• Hands-on transformer testing and commissioning experience.
• Familiarity with PLC logic and systems is advantageous.
• Experienced in maintenance and troubleshooting of switchboards and circuit breakers.
• Competent in using modern electrical test equipment including Omicron.
• Good knowledge of MS Windows and MS Office tools; familiarity with software related to test equipment and relay configuration.
