Their approach relies heavily on vertical integration encompassing design, engineering, and manufacturing worldwide, driven by a team devoted to excellence and innovation to shape the future of mobility.
Role Overview
The Incoming Quality Senior Supervisor oversees the inspection and approval of all incoming materials, parts, components, and assemblies prior to their release to production or storage. This role enforces quality standards, ensuring inspections adhere to defined specifications, drawings, and plans while managing non-conforming items and collaborating across departments to address quality issues effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Enforce Environment, Health and Safety protocols, guaranteeing mandatory personal protective equipment usage per workstation standards.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean workspace conforming to 6S principles and Lucid Production System practices.
- Champion company health and safety directives among team members.
- Create an empowering work atmosphere where employees appreciate their contributions to organizational success.
- Lead, train, and mentor Incoming Quality Inspectors, setting daily objectives and sustaining high engagement.
- Oversee inspection activities at Customer Acceptance Line stations, performing visual, dimensional, functional, and documentation verifications consistent with inspection plans.
- Validate part numbers, revisions, quantities, packaging, labeling, traceability, certification, and other required documentation prior to acceptance.
- Utilize inspection tools and equipment such as gauges, calipers, micrometers, and torque instruments to ensure conformity.
- Apply defined sampling methods and escalate ambiguous or conflicting specifications promptly.
- Record inspection findings, decisions, defect details, quantities examined, and acceptance outcomes accurately within SAP or related quality management systems.
- Keep comprehensive, audit-ready inspection documentation including photos, measurements, and evidence supporting quality investigations.
- Identify and manage non-conforming or suspect goods to prevent unintended production use by segregating and tagging them appropriately.
- Support or initiate quality notifications, containment procedures, blocked stock handling, and quarantining of affected materials.
- Collaborate with Warehouse, Logistics, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Quality Engineering teams for containment, rework, sorting, return-to-supplier, or disposition efforts.
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for incoming material defects, supplier issues, and quality escapes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at defect reduction in incoming materials.
- Ensure inspection areas are organized, equipment is well-maintained and calibrated, and 5S safety standards are upheld.
- Promptly report risks, recurring defects, missing documents, equipment problems, and urgent quality concerns professionally.
Qualifications and Experience
- In-depth understanding of incoming inspection processes, material verification, defect detection, containment, and managing non-conforming materials.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, inspection plans, work instructions, part revisions, labeling, and quality standards.
- Competency using inspection tools — calipers, micrometers, gauges, torque tools, fixtures, and basic dimensional measurement devices.
- Proficiency in SAP or equivalent ERP/quality software for logging inspection data, material tracking, and quality notifications.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong documentation discipline, data accuracy, and ability to detect abnormal or repetitive defects.
- Effective communication skills to clearly report quality concerns and collaborate with multiple teams including Supplier Quality and Logistics.
- Committed to safety with a strong sense of responsibility, urgency, and ability to operate efficiently in a production-focused environment.
- Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc) or equivalent, with minimum 5 years’ relevant experience, including automotive OEM exposure.
- At least 2 years specializing in incoming inspection and quality control practices.
- Experience working with SAP Quality Module is required.
- Ability to work rotating shifts and support dynamic production priorities, performing inspections in warehouse or shop floor settings as needed.
- English communication proficiency is mandatory; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
