About the Role
Horner & Shifrin, Inc. is recruiting a dedicated Human Resources Specialist for a full-time onsite position in the Greater St. Louis area. The role requires at least two years of HR experience and focuses on delivering consistent and confidential HR support within a growing company offering significant career growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily assistance and clear communication to employees and leaders, ensuring a consistent experience.
- Handle sensitive employee and HR records including FMLA and workers' compensation with utmost confidentiality.
- Manage and administer leave programs, such as FMLA, in compliance with federal and state laws while guiding employees and managers.
- Act as the main administrator and expert for HRIS systems, preferably Paycor, overseeing data accuracy, system setup, reporting, troubleshooting, and user assistance.
- Support recruitment efforts by managing job postings, onboarding paperwork, and preliminary candidate screenings.
- Update employee records in the HRIS and conduct employment verifications.
- Assist in preparing compliance reports such as EEO-1 and generate HR metrics reports.
- Represent the company at job fairs and recruitment events to attract talent.
- Perform clerical duties including maintaining personnel files.
- Lead onboarding and offboarding processes, including orientation sessions and exit interviews, and manage unemployment claim responses.
- Help coordinate benefits renewals and the open enrollment period.
- Contribute to other HR projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Strict adherence to confidentiality regarding employee and HR data.
- Ability to multitask with precision and attention to detail.
- Self-driven with strong initiative and capacity to work independently.
- Team collaboration skills across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational capabilities.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Completion of a background check is mandatory.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related discipline is required.
Salary and Benefits
The compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $75,000 annually, based on the candidate’s expertise and location.
