Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and people-centric Human Resources Coordinator to join our People & Culture team in Sydney. Reporting directly to the Head of HR, this permanent full-time position offers a vital role in providing a superior employee experience and managing the day-to-day HR operations of a dynamic and fast-growing technology company.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment including job advertising, interview scheduling, candidate communication, and employment paperwork preparation.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, coordinate inductions, arrange necessary equipment and system access, and handle compliance documentation.
- Prepare and process employment contracts, contract alterations, and probation confirmations.
- Maintain up-to-date and confidential employee records within the HR Information System (HRIS), ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Deliver first-level HR support to employees and managers concerning policies, leave, benefits, and employment inquiries.
- Assist payroll operations through processing personnel changes, managing leave records, and coordinating with payroll providers.
- Coordinate pre-employment screening activities such as reference checks, background verifications, right-to-work validations, and visa documentation management.
- Support performance management cycles, professional development programs, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Ensure HR compliance with relevant employment legislation, company policies, and governance standards.
- Organize employee-focused events, well-being programs, training sessions, and internal communications.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing HR workflows and the overall employee experience.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 2 years experience working in Human Resources, People & Culture, or Recruitment coordination roles.
- Proficiency in preparing employment related documentation and maintaining meticulous HR records.
- Strong understanding of Australian employment laws, National Employment Standards, and Fair Work regulations.
- Experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional organizational abilities to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced workplace.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong customer service orientation.
- High level of detail orientation and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in technology, SaaS, or professional services sectors.
- Exposure to payroll support and HR analytics/reporting.
- Familiarity with employment visas and immigration procedures.
- Experience in ISO-certified or regulated settings.
