About the Role
Gró Consulting provides outsourced and advisory HR support to small and mid-sized businesses, helping management cover core people operations without needing a full-time in-house HR hire. This position begins as a part-time, hourly W-2 role and can grow into a full-time position after 90 days of employment.
The team is looking for an HR Consultant who can support a range of client-facing human resources needs. The role spans the full employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, compensation, performance support, policy work, and employee relations. It is a strong fit for someone who enjoys hands-on HR work in a small-business environment and can be a reliable contact for both employees and managers.
Responsibilities
- Support administration of compensation and benefits programs.
- Help run recruiting and talent acquisition activities.
- Coordinate new-hire onboarding and assist with learning and development efforts.
- Respond to employee questions related to pay, leave, and other HR matters, and help resolve issues as they arise.
- Champion HR initiatives that contribute to a productive and low-conflict workplace.
- Assist with creating and rolling out HR policies and procedures.
- Contribute to performance management activities.
- Collect and interpret HR data such as time-to-hire and turnover metrics.
- Plan and manage quarterly and annual performance review cycles.
- Keep employee records organized and current in both digital and paper formats.
- Help improve employee satisfaction through timely issue resolution, benefits/perk updates, and team-building efforts.
- Ensure HR practices stay aligned with labor law and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of proven experience in an HR Manager role or another senior HR position.
- At least 2 years of experience working as the sole HR resource for an organization.
- Strong working knowledge of general HR policies and processes.
- Solid understanding of employment and labor law.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office and HRIS platforms.
- Hands-on expertise with Paylocity is required.
- Experience handling payroll or supporting payroll administration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with a people-first approach.
- Good problem-solving ability.
- Comfort working collaboratively in a results-oriented environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related area is preferred.
- Additional HR training is an advantage.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred.
- Schedule includes an 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday.
