Role Overview
The Home Tutor/Private Tutor will provide personalized in-person academic support to students in Lucknow, focusing on clarity of concepts, exam readiness, and customized learning plans. This full-time onsite position involves tutoring school students from Class 1 through Class 12 in all subjects, with possible specialization in areas like Vedic Maths, Abacus, or foundational JEE/NEET topics depending on the tutor's expertise. Responsibilities include lesson planning aligned with school curricula, conducting engaging teaching sessions, assigning and evaluating homework, utilizing KimUp’s tools to monitor progress, and maintaining consistent communication with parents or guardians regarding student performance. The role also requires the tutor to participate in training on AI-enabled educational tools and comply with the organization’s academic standards and ethical policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver lessons consistent with curriculum standards and student learning needs.
- Conduct regular tutoring sessions that foster understanding and retention of material.
- Assign homework and review student submissions for comprehension and improvement.
- Track student attendance, progress, and performance using KimUp’s digital systems.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians by providing progress updates and feedback.
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learner strengths and challenges.
- Engage in orientation and training for AI-enhanced tutoring tools and methodologies.
- Uphold KimUp’s academic quality and ethical guidelines throughout tutoring activities.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong command of school-level subjects from Classes 1 to 12, especially Mathematics, Science, English, and Social Studies.
- Experience or knowledge in coaching for competitive or foundational courses like JEE/NEET basics, Vedic Maths, or Abacus is highly advantageous.
- Competence in lesson planning and curriculum-aligned instructional design.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage learners with diverse styles and ages.
- Ability to mentor students personally, encouraging motivation and providing constructive feedback.
- Familiarity with digital tools for attendance, progress tracking, and sharing educational resources, with openness to AI-based learning technologies.
- Previous tutoring or classroom teaching experience is preferred.
- Minimum qualification: Bachelor’s degree.
