Position Location and Hours
This casual Healthcare Assistant position is based at Radius Glaisdale, located at 50 Hare Puke Drive, Flagstaff, Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand. Work hours are casual, scheduled as needed.
Visa and Employment Conditions
Radius Care cannot sponsor work visas or support visa changes for casual healthcare assistants. Candidates must have a valid visa with open work rights, preferably with at least six months remaining before expiry.
Compensation
The pay rate depends on completed recognized caregiving qualifications.
Role Description and Duties
The Healthcare Assistant will deliver high-quality care to residents under Registered Nurse supervision. Responsibilities include developing meaningful relationships with residents and their families, collaborating with the care team to follow individualized care plans, and completing full training provided by the organization.
- Performing personal care duties while encouraging residents’ independence and decision-making
- Timely completion of assigned tasks
- Responding promptly to resident requests with relevant information
- Maintaining and updating healthcare records of residents
- Assisting with resident handovers during shift changes

Desired Skills and Qualifications
- A New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing and relevant experience are preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and empathy towards residents and their families
- Effective verbal and written communication capabilities
- Flexibility to work according to rostered shifts
