About the Position
Founded in 1951, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is a premier United Nations entity addressing migration issues globally. IOM collaborates with government and non-government partners to facilitate humane and orderly migration, safeguard displaced groups, and provide comprehensive migration management solutions.
Based in Nigeria, the Head of Resources Management reports directly to the Chief of Mission and works closely with Regional and Headquarters Resource Management teams. This leadership role oversees financial, budgeting, human resources, procurement, and administrative functions within the IOM Country Office.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage treasury activities including cash flow forecasting, budget oversight, payroll distributions, variance analyses, and maintaining robust internal fraud controls.
- Review, approve, and ensure compliance of project and donor financial reports with IOM policies, IPSAS standards, and SAP procedures.
- Lead human resources functions encompassing recruitment, personnel management, policy enforcement, and resolving complex staff issues alongside regional management.
- Administer procurement contracts, supplier arrangements, logistics operations, vehicle fleet management, and upkeep of facilities for the main office and branch locations.
- Act as Officer-in-Charge during Chief of Mission absences and represent IOM in United Nations Operations Management Team (OMT) working groups.
Required Qualifications
- Possess a Master’s degree with at least 7 years of related experience or a Bachelor’s degree coupled with 9 years of relevant professional background in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Management.
- Demonstrable expertise in financial management, accounting, budgeting, human resources, procurement, logistics, and ERP systems.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
Preferred Credentials
- Professional certifications such as CA, CPA, CIMA or ACCA.
- Familiarity with IPSAS accounting standards.
- Practical experience using SAP software.
