Role Overview
This position is ideal for new graduates or early-career data professionals aiming to begin their data science journey within an agile and entrepreneurial setting. Primarily joining our Data Science team, you will also gain exposure to Data Engineering and Data Analytics through cross-team projects.
Your responsibilities will include developing analytical and machine learning solutions supporting Evident's benchmarks, research, and client offerings. You will work with both structured and unstructured data, engage in automation tooling, and apply contemporary AI methods while deepening your understanding of AI's evolution in the financial sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to machine learning and AI initiatives involving natural language processing, large language models, and automation workflows to enhance research and data processing.
- Assist in cleaning and transforming diverse datasets to prepare them for comprehensive analysis.
- Develop scripts and tools automating repetitive tasks to boost team efficiency.
- Participate in cross-functional rotations with Data Engineering and Analytics teams, gaining insights into data infrastructure, pipelines, and visualization dashboards.
- Engage in hackathons and innovation projects to experiment with emerging AI and data science techniques.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates are STEM graduates from the class of 2025 or professionals with up to two years of experience in data science, analytics, computer science, or related areas. Proficiency or familiarity with Python or similar programming languages is necessary, alongside strong quantitative and analytical aptitude.
Comfort with working on both structured and unstructured datasets, eagerness to learn machine learning and AI methods, attention to detail, and collaborative teamwork abilities are critical. Effective communication skills and a keen interest in AI, machine learning, and emerging technologies are also important.
Additional Desirable Skills
- Prior exposure to machine learning, NLP, or large language model projects through academic, internship, or personal initiatives
- Working knowledge of SQL and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure)
- Experience with data science libraries like pandas, scikit-learn, or PyTorch
- Familiarity with APIs, automation, or handling unstructured text data
- Interest in financial services sectors, including banking or insurance
