Role Overview
The General Laborer is an essential full-time team member operating the production line efficiently and safely. Under the guidance of the Production Supervisor, this role ensures product quality, line flow continuity, proper packing, documentation, and handling of finished goods in a dynamic food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and maintain product quality during production, eliminating defects, and ensuring correct packing and placement.
- Address and safely resolve product jams, manage overflow items, and sustain consistent line operation.
- Assemble packaging boxes, manually pack products, load and palletize finished goods for shipping.
- Verify date codes, maintain precise QA records, and adhere strictly to food safety regulations.
- Assist operators when necessary, keep the workspace clean and organized, and handle material retrieval or product rework as needed.
Work Schedule and Compensation
This role is a permanent, full-time position working the afternoon shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with possible overtime based on business needs. The hourly pay rate is CAD 21.42 plus an afternoon-shift premium of CAD 0.75 per hour.
Candidate Profile
- Capable of lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 lbs while performing repetitive and fast-paced tasks requiring good coordination.
- Possesses strong communication skills, reliability, a team-oriented mindset, a robust work ethic, and keen attention to detail.
- Minimum educational qualification is a high school diploma or GED, with basic food safety knowledge and preferably food manufacturing experience.
