Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Gardener for Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort to maintain and enhance the landscaped environments. This full-time role requires ensuring all gardens, grounds, and outdoor areas are well-presented and safe, providing an inviting atmosphere for guests and staff alike.

Key Duties

• Perform daily gardening and grounds upkeep tasks adhering to the resort's standards.
• Manage lawns, flower beds, hedges, trees, and landscaped spaces with care.
• Operate gardening machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Maintain and store tools and equipment properly after use.
• Utilize eco-friendly gardening methods whenever feasible.
• Promptly identify and communicate any hazards, safety concerns, or maintenance needs.
• Keep all working areas clean, organized, and clutter-free.
• Contribute to seasonal plantings, pruning, mulching, and general garden enhancements.
• Adhere strictly to Workplace Health and Safety policies and relevant regulations.

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday, exact shift hours to be finalized.
• Occasional shifts on weekends or public holidays may be required.

Hourly Compensation

• Monday to Friday: 27.97 AUD per hour.
• Saturday: 34.96 AUD per hour.
• Sunday: 41.96 AUD per hour.

Candidate Qualifications

• Prior experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance.
• Proficient with the safe operation of gardening equipment and tools.
• Basic knowledge of plant care, lawn maintenance, and garden management.
• Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and organize daily responsibilities effectively.
• Dependability combined with keen attention to detail.
• Physically fit and capable of performing labor-intensive outdoor work.
• Positive and proactive approach to maintaining the property's presentation.
• Formal qualifications in horticulture or related fields will be viewed favorably.
