Role Purpose
As a Food & Beverage Supervisor, you will be responsible on each shift for the smooth operation of food and beverage service areas. This includes managing staff effectively, ensuring excellent guest service, supporting revenue goals, and controlling costs. This hands-on role requires teamwork to deliver top-tier, 5-star service while inspiring the team and maintaining the highest quality and hygiene standards.
Key Duties
- Provide friendly, professional food and beverage services to all guests.
- Create an environment that meets or exceeds guest expectations.
- Develop familiarity with VIP and regular guests to meet their specific needs.
- Manage restaurant equipment and inventory, including breakage records and stocktaking.
- Maintain a weekly restaurant cleaning schedule to uphold superior hygiene standards.
- Ensure all preparation (mis-en-place) is completed before guests arrive.
- Train staff in menu and wine knowledge to optimize guest sales.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of front and back-of-house areas.
- Accurately handle guest billing following hotel procedures and post correct charges.
- Participate in meetings with Restaurant & Bar Manager and Director of Culinary.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Use departmental manuals as guides for service training and procedures.
- Conduct comprehensive induction for new hires within their first week.
- Ensure staff perform duties following service standards and brand policies.
- Utilize data and guest feedback to enhance product and service quality.
- Communicate openly with staff and hold regular briefings.
- Delegate shift responsibilities to cover all operational areas effectively.
- Lead by example to maintain positive staff morale.
- Manage staff performance according to guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and responsible alcohol service.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Flexibility to work a 7-day rotating roster with varied shifts.
- Barista and bar experience is advantageous.
- At least 12 months supervisory experience in a busy food and beverage setting, preferably 5-star.
- Professional personal presentation and interpersonal skills at all times.
- Strong desire and ability to train and support staff development.
- Up-to-date awareness of industry trends in service, product, and presentation.
- Ability to build rapport and initiate contact easily.
- Efficient time and task management skills.
- Excellent numerical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Capacity to manage stress effectively.
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays.
- Aptitude and willingness to pursue further development within the hotel.
