Overview

This role is responsible for immediate response to emergency situations, executing duties assigned by the officer in charge, and safeguarding life and property during incidents such as fires, road accidents, floods, and hazardous material events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quickly and safely respond to emergency calls, unpredictable incidents, and requests for aid.
  • Protect civilians and assets at fire scenes, road crashes, flooding, bomb threats, dangerous substance spills, and transportation accidents involving rail and air.

  • Operate fire trucks safely within and beyond the port according to scheduled maintenance and safety protocols.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Certificate in Fire Safety, Engineering, Science, Health, Safety & Environment, or related discipline; a bachelor's degree is advantageous.
  • Completion of Firefighter Level II training (minimum 120 hours beyond Level I), covering fire science, suppression systems, rescue operations, equipment handling, and hazardous material procedures aligned with NFPA standards (including NFPA 1081 and preferably NFPA 1001).
  • Certified Emergency Vehicle Operation training (minimum 16 hours) compliant with NFPA 1451 and 1002 standards.
  • Hazardous materials operations training (at least 24 hours) meeting NFPA 472, OSHA, or EPA criteria.
  • First Responder certification (minimum 40 hours) in accord with International Maritime Organization (IMO) requirements.
  • Valid UAE driving license.
  • Strong command of English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.

Experience

  • 0 to 1 year experience in a similar firefighting role.
  • Exposure to building fires incidents and road traffic accident responses.
  • Basic first aid knowledge and understanding of hazardous material handling protocols.
