Role Overview
The Finance Executive or Senior Finance Executive will oversee comprehensive media finance operations, including client billing, revenue recognition, vendor payments, and compliance enforcement. Acting as a vital financial partner to commercial and business teams, the role focuses on enhancing operational efficiency, financial governance, and process improvements across multiple client accounts and media projects.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage full cycle of media project finance and client billing, ensuring timely, accurate revenue recognition aligned with contracts.
- Verify media plans, client purchase orders, and cost estimates for necessary approvals before project commencement.
- Monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP), perform routine reconciliations, and facilitate prompt billing and cost recoveries.
- Address and resolve any billing issues, client disputes, or reconciliation discrepancies swiftly.
- Collaborate with Business, Commercial, and Media teams to monitor project financials including profitability and billing status.
- Conduct regular reviews with stakeholders to spot risks, revenue leakages, and overdue balances.
- Guide business teams on contractual financial requirements and billing procedures.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal accounts departments to enable smooth invoice processing and payments.
- Ensure accuracy of costs associated with client projects and assist in vendor reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial and management reports, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and analyze variances for management attention.
- Support month-end and year-end financial closure activities.
- Maintain adherence to company policies, statutory regulations, internal controls, and client compliance requirements.
- Manage audit processes by providing necessary documentation and responding to audit queries.
- Maintain comprehensive audit records related to billing, revenue, and payments.
- Identify potential control weaknesses and recommend process enhancements for improved governance.
- Lead continuous process improvement initiatives focusing on billing, reconciliations, reporting, and operational finance functions.
- Utilize technology and automation to enhance process efficiency and scalability.
- Participate in finance transformation projects and implement new controls and systems.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior finance staff and support departmental projects as required.
Candidate Requirements
- Diploma in Finance, Accountancy, or a related field is mandatory.
- At least 3 years of relevant finance experience in sectors such as media, advertising, marketing communications, professional services, or project-based environments. Fresh graduates may apply for the Finance Executive position.
- Sound knowledge of client billing processes, WIP management, revenue recognition, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Experience in supporting audits (statutory, internal, client) and understanding financial compliance and controls.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting software systems.
- Strong analytical capabilities, problem-solving aptitude, and effective stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex priorities within deadlines.
- A proactive approach with keen attention to detail and dedication to continuous process innovation.
