Role Overview
This Ireland-based Finance Associate position is a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role focuses on financial accounting and reporting, payroll, and tax compliance for several EMEA entities, while also supporting new service lines and process improvements. A major part of the job involves handling complex intercompany structures and connecting group-level reporting with local statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The role covers month-end activities, statutory and US GAAP reconciliations, intercompany accounting, and finance transformation work.
- Own the monthly close for a group of assigned entities, including standard balance sheet and financial statement reconciliations.
- Review and interpret subsidiary-level and corporate financial results, providing useful analysis.
- Check payroll updates prepared by the financial operations team across multiple entities.
- Support finance projects, including ERP improvements and the launch of new service lines.
- Spot process inefficiencies and implement changes that improve efficiency, strengthen controls, streamline workflows, and expand automation.
- Track and document accounting differences between US GAAP reporting and local statutory accounting.
- Help prepare both US GAAP and statutory financial reports, including bridging entries worked through with local service providers.
- Assist with statutory reporting, tax submissions, and other compliance filings alongside local service providers.
- Support financial statement audits by preparing clear reconciliation schedules from US GAAP trial balances to audited local statutory books.
- Manage monthly intercompany accounting across international entities, including cross-border transactions, recharges, and balances.
- Prepare routine intercompany balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and work with global finance colleagues to resolve issues before close.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field is required.
- Professional qualification or part-qualification in ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or CPA is expected.
- At least 3 years of progressive accounting experience is needed; exposure to a publicly traded company is preferred.
- Experience in a multinational environment, including multi-currency translation and consolidation work, is important.
- Payroll exposure across multiple countries is an added advantage.
- Strong Excel capability is essential.
- Experience with Workday is beneficial.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy are required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed.
- Good interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities are expected.
- The ability to manage a high volume of time-sensitive information is important.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, changing business environment is required.
- Experience working with remote colleagues and globally distributed teams is desirable.
- Must be able to work from a remote or home office.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual gross fixed salary range for this role is €56,800 to €71,000, plus variable compensation.
Final pay placement is based on objective market benchmarking and gender-neutral criteria, including relevant skills, experience, and qualifications. Actual pay may vary depending on factors such as education, experience, qualifications, and location.
For full-time regular employees, additional variable compensation may apply. Non-sales roles are eligible for an annual bonus based on factors including individual and company performance. Sales roles are eligible for commissions, though this position is not described as a sales role.
