Job description

Position Summary

The Feeder Folder is responsible for handling, sorting, and inspecting clean textiles before folding them manually or feeding them into ironing or folding machinery for final processing and packaging. This role ensures that all products conform to the company's quality and production metrics and reports directly to the Production Manager.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sort and evaluate clean textiles taken from carts or bins to verify they meet quality standards.
  • Manually fold, assemble, and package textiles or operate ironing/folding machines in alignment with production needs.
  • Process textiles based on product category and carefully follow written packing instructions for preparation of shipment.
  • Load completed products onto conveyors or into carts and transport materials within the production area effectively.
  • Maintain records of production activities through logging into the Spindle productivity tracking system.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to discern colors, sizes, and types of textile products.
  • Accuracy in counting and sorting textiles.
  • Competence in inspecting and grading the quality of products.
  • Capability to comprehend written packing instructions and follow both verbal and written directions accurately.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Physically active job requiring standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Tasks include reaching overhead, pushing and pulling carts or bins, grasping and handling textiles, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, and stooping.
  • Work environment in industrial laundry production areas may expose employees to temperature changes, humidity, odors, lint, and dust.
