Key responsibilities

The Executive - Aviation Safety will carry out routine checks, support incident handling, help prepare for emergencies, and promote safety awareness across airport operations. The role also includes record keeping, analysis, compliance support, and coordination with internal teams and external authorities.

Safety inspections and hazard control

• Perform regular safety checks across airside operations to confirm compliance with regulatory and company safety rules.
• Spot hazards during inspections and work with the relevant teams to reduce or remove the associated risks.

Incident reporting and follow-up

• Record and escalate safety incidents and near-misses, and assist in investigations by collecting details and preparing reports.
• Track incidents after reporting and coordinate with the Lead and other stakeholders to close corrective actions and reduce repeat occurrences.

Emergency preparedness

• Support the planning and execution of emergency drills so that staff understand the correct response procedures.
• Review drill outcomes and help update emergency action plans to reflect regulatory expectations and operational needs.

Safety communication and training

• Conduct safety briefings and OHS training for airside personnel to strengthen compliance with safety procedures.
• Share updated safety notices and reminders to maintain ongoing awareness among operational teams.

Data handling and analysis

• Maintain accurate logs of inspections, incidents, and safety data to support informed decision-making.
• Carry out basic trend analysis to identify recurring issues and share findings with the Lead for planning and improvement.

Investigations and corrective action

• Investigate safety events thoroughly by gathering evidence, speaking with witnesses, and identifying root causes.
• Help implement preventive and corrective actions to address identified risks and avoid future recurrence.

Policy, management system, and compliance support

• Assist in implementing Occupational Health and Safety policies and ensure staff understand and follow them.
• Support the Safety Management Plan, safety inspections, and hazard assessments in line with OSHAS and SMS standards.
• Help with environmental compliance under the Environmental Management Plan, including ISO-14001 related data collection, records, and reporting.
• Contribute to health compliance work by documenting activities, maintaining health records, and assisting in NC closures.

Stakeholder coordination

The role interacts with internal teams such as the Lead - Aviation Safety (Regional), Airside Operations, Engineering and Maintenance, Security, Compliance, and Ground Handling Agents, as well as external parties including DGCA, BCAS, airport concessionaires, airlines, and emergency response agencies.

Qualifications and experience

A bachelor's degree in Aviation Safety, Aerospace Engineering, Safety Management, or a related discipline is required. A postgraduate qualification in Aviation Safety or Safety Management is preferred. The role also values certifications such as ASOS, CSP, PMP, and DGCA Aerodrome SMS training. Candidates should bring 3 to 5 years of experience in aviation safety, airside operations, or a similar aviation industry role.
