About the Role
ConsultANZ is partnering with a prominent civil contractor in Auckland to recruit an experienced Estimating Manager. This senior position involves leading the estimating process for substantial civil infrastructure projects ensuring cost estimates are precise, competitive, and commercially robust. You will also contribute to bid strategy formulation and support critical tender stage decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire estimating process for major civil infrastructure tenders.
- Prepare and verify cost estimates against accuracy and market competitiveness.
- Manage and provide guidance to the estimating team.
- Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments to compile pricing information and develop comprehensive estimates.
- Assist in creating bidding strategies and pricing plans for tenders.
- Evaluate contract terms, risk factors, and tender requirements thoroughly.
- Facilitate seamless handover to delivery teams following successful bids.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in estimating within civil infrastructure projects.
- At least 10 years working extensively in the New Zealand construction market.
- Over 5 years’ experience at senior or lead estimator level on significant projects.
- Established strong networks with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Advanced proficiency in Candy estimating software.
- Sound commercial acumen with clear understanding of pricing structures, contracts, and risk management.
Compensation and Benefits
- Attractive salary package ranging between $230,000 and $260,000, negotiable based on experience.
