Role Overview

The ESG & Sustainability Manager will spearhead the development and implementation of the firm's environmental, social, and governance strategy. This position is instrumental to fulfilling ILOS's mission to integrate sustainable approaches throughout the company's activities. The selected candidate will collaborate extensively with various departments to evaluate and enhance the company's environmental and social performance, establishing a systematic ESG framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and lead the execution of the company’s ESG strategy alongside relevant teams, establishing clear sustainability objectives.
• Manage and supervise ESG initiatives such as carbon footprint accounting, formulating decarbonisation roadmaps, and advancing biodiversity as well as community engagement programs.
• Prepare and manage the release of ESG disclosures and reports to ensure compliance with current legislation and updates on national and EU regulatory requirements.
• Recognize ESG-related risks and devise strategies to mitigate them effectively.
• Coordinate benchmarking activities and certification processes, including ISO 14001, EcoVadis, and GRESB assessments.
• Work in partnership with auditors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to uphold regulatory compliance and foster continuous ESG improvements.
• Ensure consistent internal and external communication concerning ESG performance and initiatives.
• Conduct training sessions to promote ESG and sustainability awareness organization-wide.
• Establish and nurture stakeholder relationships, including investors, employees, and community entities such as local authorities and associations.

Candidate Profile

• At least five years of professional experience in ESG within renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.
• Proven expertise with GRESB reporting requirements.
• Strong understanding of carbon accounting, biodiversity measurement, ESG supplier audits, basic health, safety, and environment standards, materiality analyses, and EU taxonomy regulations.
• Experience crafting and deploying ESG strategies in comparable roles.
• Excellent communication proficiency, both written and oral, tailored for various stakeholders, including handling sustainability reports at investor level.
• Project management skills capable of overseeing several simultaneous projects.
• Fluent English language skills; proficiency in German is a plus.

Preferred Experience

• Background in solar, wind, or other renewable energy projects development.
• Familiarity with ESG-related financing mechanisms such as green bonds.
• Knowledge of life-cycle assessments and habitat management practices.
