About the Role
Join Caterpillar Inc., a global leader dedicated to innovation and sustainability, as an Environmental Technician based at our Stockton facility in England. This permanent, full-time position offers 37 working hours per week, with a salary range between A335,800 and A344,000 dependent on your experience. As an Environmental Technician, you will play a vital role in advancing environmental performance, supporting compliance, and promoting sustainable practices in a dynamic industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure environmental compliance through routine inspections, monitoring, and adherence to legislation and site-specific requirements.
- Manage environmental documentation including reporting, waste metrics, and compliance records accurately.
- Maintain the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, promoting continual improvement opportunities.
- Organize and perform internal and external environmental audits, tracking actions and completion compliance.
- Lead sustainability efforts such as carbon emissions tracking and executing the Multi-Generational Project Plan (MGPP).
- Raise environmental awareness through training and stakeholder engagement, fostering best practices across site teams.
Requirements and Competencies
- Extensive experience in producing precise environmental records and audit-ready documentation.
- Working knowledge of environmental health and safety policies, regulations, and compliance standards.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with colleagues, contractors, and leadership in promoting environmental stewardship.
- Ability to juggle multiple environmental projects, compliance tasks, and administrative duties while meeting deadlines.
- Familiarity with environmental process management to enhance compliance and efficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and foster collaborative engagement in environmental initiatives.
- A proactive mindset to identify improvements and support sustainability goals independently.
Additional Information
The role may require up to 5% travel within the UK, including visits to other company facilities. This position is fully onsite five days a week. All applications will be reviewed promptly and the vacancy could close early upon receiving a strong candidate pool.
