About the City of Gosnells

About the role
This position sits within the Infrastructure Engineering Construction team and contributes to the delivery of municipal civil works. It is a practical, hands-on role focused on drainage and civil construction activities.
You will help build and modify stormwater drainage infrastructure, including pipes, pits and side entries, working from plans and policies. The role also involves using plant, equipment and vehicles used in civil construction, while keeping safety and workmanship at the forefront.

Key duties
- Carry out civil construction and drainage tasks as part of the infrastructure team
- Build, alter and maintain stormwater drainage assets such as pipes, pits and side entries
- Work from detailed plans and policies to complete tasks accurately
- Operate plant, tools, equipment and vehicles used in civil construction work
- Maintain a strong focus on safe practices and quality outcomes
What the City is looking for
The City is open to training the right person if they bring transferable skills and a genuine willingness to learn.
- Previous experience in a similar drainage or civil construction position
- Practical experience building, changing or maintaining stormwater drainage infrastructure, including pipes, pits and side entries
- Ability to read construction plans, take accurate measurements and uphold quality standards
- Capacity to work independently, organise priorities and manage workload well
- Ability to contribute effectively within a team
- Commitment to workplace safety and health requirements
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Essential requirements
- MR driver’s licence
- White Card
- Current National Police Clearance less than three months old; this is not needed at application stage but will be required later as an appointment condition
Desirable requirements
- Current Basic Workplace Traffic Management and Traffic Control certificate
- Machine or plant operator certification
