Main Objective of the Role
The Deputy Chief Flight Instructor is responsible for overseeing and supporting the Core Flying Phase of the Multi Pilot License (MPL) program. This role ensures alignment with all regulatory, safety, and training standards set by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and flydubai.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with GCAA regulations, flydubai Academy protocols, and safety policies across all flight training activities within their remit.
- Supervise and review flight training conducted by external contracted providers ensuring adherence to approved standards.
- Manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with training contractors, guaranteeing that agreed-upon expectations are fulfilled.
- Assure standardization and uphold quality controls for flight instruction throughout all training stages.
- Deliver Instrument Rating Instructor (IRI) training to Synthetic Flight Instructors (SFIs) involved in Basic Phase MPL training using Flight Training Devices (FTD) and Flight and Navigation Procedures Trainers (FNPT).
- Track cadet progression, assess training effectiveness, identify skill gaps, and propose necessary enhancements.
- Contribute to the creation, implementation, and continuous refinement of training courses and syllabi.
- Verify that training documentation is accurate, complete, and meets regulatory mandates.
- Facilitate coordination between contracted providers and operational teams to ensure smooth training delivery.
- Confirm that instructor certifications, competencies, and authorizations comply with regulatory prerequisites.
- Monitor recency compliance for instructors and cadets to sustain regulatory adherence.
- Ensure conformance to rules regarding flight time, duty periods, and fatigue management.
- Report on training outcomes, compliance issues, and operational concerns; assist with corrective measures as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years of education.
- Fluent proficiency in English.
- Holder of a GCAA Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with Single Engine Piston (SEP) rating and at least 2,000 total flight hours.
- Between 7 to 9 years of relevant professional experience.
- Possesses CPL including Single Engine, Multi-Engine, and Instrument Rating (IR); Flight Instructor Rating (FIR); Class Rating Instructor (CRI); Multi-Crew Pilot Licence Instructor (MPLI); and Multi-Crew Pilot Licence Instructor Instructor (MPLII).

Information Security Requirements
Adheres to the company's Information Security and Risk (ISR) policies by identifying and reporting any vulnerabilities or incidents to management or the Information Security team. Completes mandatory ISR awareness training and incorporates security protocols in daily tasks.
