Role Overview
The Department Manager role is a full-time, in-store position situated at the Pantaloons store in Bilaspur. This leader supervises daily department operations, including floor management, merchandise presentation, and inventory replenishment while ensuring compliance with store quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee department activities to achieve sales targets.
- Monitor and analyze sales and operational metrics to guide decision-making concerning promotions and resource distribution.
- Implement promotional initiatives and maintain an attractive merchandise display.
- Provide excellent customer service and promptly address customer concerns.
- Manage and mentor the department team, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.
- Maintain strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with store management and cross-functional teams to support seamless inventory management and overall store operations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven expertise in retail operations and store management with focus on supervising department functions, merchandise arrangement, and stock control.
- Strong sales aptitude, customer service skills, including upselling, cross-selling, and complaint handling.
- Effective leadership and team management capabilities, encompassing coaching, motivation, and conflict resolution.
- Analytical ability to interpret sales reports and operational data for goal setting and promotional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal proficiency to interact with customers and internal teams.
- Organizational skills for multitasking and managing peak business hours and shift schedules.
- Previous experience in fashion or apparel retail within a large-format store is desirable.
- Educational background in retail management, business, or related disciplines (graduate or diploma level) is an advantage.
