Job description
Overview
Country Grocer's Esquimalt store is seeking a dedicated, motivated team player for the role of Full-Time Deli Supervisor. If you enjoy preparing fresh deli sandwiches and cheese platters while delivering exceptional customer service, this position could be a great fit.
Work Schedule
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and evening shifts is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage ordering of stock from suppliers.
- Prepare, package, weigh, and price a variety of deli products including meats, cheeses, party trays, fresh salads, sandwiches, and both hot and cold entrees.
- Ensure all products are properly labeled, covered, and rotated based on freshness.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, quantity, freshness, and visual presentation.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong desire to offer excellent customer service.
- High level of motivation with proactive problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Skilled at managing multiple tasks, following instructions, and prioritizing time efficiently.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Compliance with established department procedures and safe work practices is essential.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a current Food Safe certification is advantageous; however, Country Grocer offers assistance to obtain certification after hiring.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely bend, twist, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Must be able to stand and walk throughout the entire shift.
- Maintain safe working conditions by adhering to safety protocols.
Compensation
Hourly wage ranges from CA$20.75 to CA$22.50.
