Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Database Supervisor to oversee enterprise database environments and keep mission-critical systems running securely, efficiently, and with high availability. This position focuses on database administration, performance improvement, backup and recovery planning, and maintaining continuity across critical business applications.
The right candidate will bring strong Oracle expertise, sound analytical thinking, and a commitment to building stable, scalable, and high-performing database systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the administration and upkeep of enterprise Oracle database environments.
- Track database performance, uptime, and resource usage to ensure efficient operations.
- Set up and manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN configurations.
- Carry out database installations, version upgrades, migrations, and patching activities.
- Improve SQL queries, PL/SQL routines, and overall database efficiency.
- Design, maintain, and test backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Diagnose database incidents and carry out root cause investigations.
- Maintain database security, manage user access, and ensure alignment with company standards.
- Work with application, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams to support business systems.
- Create technical records, health summaries, and operational improvement recommendations.
- Drive ongoing improvements in reliability, scalability, and performance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a similar discipline.
- At least 8 years of experience in database administration.
- Strong practical experience managing Oracle databases in enterprise settings.
- Hands-on exposure to Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and performance tuning.
- Oracle database certifications are considered a strong advantage.
