Data Transformation Specialist

Overview

The Data Transformation Specialist at NielsenIQ plays a key role in the deployment of new and updated client data services. This position focuses on handling both standardized and customized data feeds, preparing bespoke Excel exports, and integrating data with GS1 platforms. The specialist ensures smooth transformation and integration processes that align with client expectations and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate actively in delivering tailored integrations, including client-specific solutions and Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) projects.
• Assist with data mapping, thorough testing, and deployment phases to guarantee accurate, efficient integration.
• Interpret detailed data specifications and customer requirements to inform integration workflows.
• Collaborate on project management tasks by meeting key milestones and aligning with client directives for inbound and outbound workflows.
• Partner with project managers to facilitate on-time, successful deliveries.
• Keep current with Nielsen Brandbank and local GDSN data models and data capture rules to maintain expertise.
• Stay informed about industry standards and continuously refine relevant skills.
• Understand and apply complex data mapping and transformation techniques.
• Work closely with consultants and developers to implement patches or adjustments that support customized data outputs, ensuring their thorough testing and quality assurance before deployment.
• Develop data transformation logic to guarantee precise data conversion and integration.
• Design and execute test scenarios and create corresponding data to validate transformation processes.
• Maintain high data quality throughout the transformation process impacting NBB Product Library, GDSN Connector, and retailer data platforms, applying quality control measures to identify and address issues.
• Offer consultancy to suppliers and retailers, advising on best practices to maintain robust, relevant data coverage and meet integration requirements.
• Maintain consistent communication with key stakeholders—including project managers, clients, and internal teams—to provide progress updates, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills in both local languages and English.
