Position Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Data Scientist to be part of our Group Actuarial team. The role involves designing and deploying data-centric solutions using tools like R, RShiny, Python, and SQL to process and analyze multifaceted datasets. The candidate will use advanced technologies such as Large Language Models (LLMs), Optical Character Recognition (OCR), and web scraping to interpret unstructured data sources.
Working primarily with cloud infrastructure, especially Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure, the candidate will architect scalable and optimized data workflows. Expertise in mathematical and statistical analytics, modelling, modern machine learning methods, and optimization is essential.
Key tasks include manipulating large databases through cleaning, transformation, and visualization techniques, creating user-friendly interfaces using Shiny or Dash to facilitate interaction with predictive models by non-technical users, and developing predictive models, dashboards, automation tools, and other data products for analysts and business units.
Continuous learning and adoption of cutting-edge advances in data science, cloud platforms, and AI technologies are expected to enhance the quality and efficiency of data solutions. Familiarity with actuarial principles would be advantageous.
Qualifications and Experience
- Advanced degree, preferably a Master's, in fields such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Actuarial Science, or related disciplines.
- Three to five years of relevant professional experience, with the precise level contingent on candidate profile.
