Your Role
As an early and pivotal team member in Stio's Data & Analytics division, the Data Analyst will collaborate closely with the Director of Data & Analytics to enhance data-driven decision-making across departments including Finance, Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, Inventory Planning, and B2B. The position involves a full-spectrum scope including data infrastructure development, analysis, business intelligence, and stakeholder collaboration.
Technology stack includes Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Power BI, GitHub, with increasing use of Python along with SQL and R. The team employs AI-augmented coding workflows, emphasizing strong foundational skills to mistrust and verify machine-generated outputs and continuously evolve analytical methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate cross-functionally to clarify ambiguous questions and produce detailed analyses, dashboards, and data products, managing projects end-to-end.
- Author and maintain dbt models converting raw data into reliable, documented datasets with thorough testing.
- Develop and oversee semantic contexts, reports, and dashboards critical for daily business operations.
- Define and harmonize business metrics and semantics among stakeholders.
- Critically review AI-assisted SQL, dbt, and Python code to ensure accuracy beyond automated tests.
- Investigate data irregularities, engage with system owners, and refine data models to better represent business realities.
- Contribute to and help evolve Stio's data infrastructure, including Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, GitHub, Power BI, R, and Python.
- Enhance data governance by producing practical documentation accessible to AI systems and team members.
- Actively pursue continuous improvement in data analytics knowledge and techniques.
Required Experience and Skills
- Minimum three years in roles such as data analyst or analytics engineer.
- Proficient in advanced SQL features including CTEs, window functions, and capability to interpret query execution plans.
- Experience developing dbt projects with modeling, testing, and documentation expertise.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, among others.
- Routine use of Git or GitHub for version control.
- Proficiency in BI platforms including Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
- Informed perspective on the application and limitations of AI-assisted analytics development.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and work collaboratively with non-technical stakeholders.
- Skilled at delivering presentations to leadership both verbally and in writing.
Preferred Additional Qualifications
- Competency in Python and/or R for data analysis.
- Experience with the exact tech stack: Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, GitHub, Power BI, Python, R, AI-based coding tools.
- Exposure to systems such as NetSuite, Shopify, Google Analytics, Segment, Klaviyo.
- Background in retail sectors like direct-to-consumer, omni-channel, apparel, footwear, or outdoor gear.
- Experience operating in small or solo data teams.

Compensation
The total compensation package includes base salary, incentives, and benefits. The base salary range is $85,000 to $100,000 annually, with exact pay dependent on experience, skills, and qualifications.
