About the role

This entry-level Data Analyst position supports healthcare-focused digital experience work at Modea. In a collaborative consulting environment, you will help measure and improve the complete patient journey, from how people find a brand in search to how they use websites and mobile apps and which touchpoints create the greatest value for clients.

The role is designed to build practical experience in tag management, product analytics, search visibility measurement, and communicating insights through data stories.

What you will do

• Perform baseline SEO and GEO reviews to monitor keyword performance, technical site health, and visibility across search engines and generative AI search tools.
• Support tracking of organic search presence using tools such as Google Search Console, SEMrush, and AI citation monitoring platforms.
• Assist with identifying content improvements based on search intent and healthcare audience behavior.
• Help configure, test, and maintain tracking tags and scripts for healthcare websites and mobile applications using tools like Google Tag Manager, Freshpaint, and Tealium.
• Support maintenance of tracking plans, event naming rules, and data structures so journey-level data is collected consistently.
• Follow quality standards and basic HIPAA-related data handling expectations.
• Carry out simple UX and user-behavior reviews to understand entry paths, engagement patterns, and conversion trends.
• Create, refresh, and maintain dashboards in GA4, Heap, or Looker Studio for internal teams and clients.
• Use SQL, R, or Python to clean, transform, and pull data from search and analytics APIs as your technical capability grows.
• Work within a cross-functional team, manage tasks efficiently, and record time in line with company practices.
• Share initial findings, search updates, and reporting results with internal stakeholders and clients, with guidance from managers or senior analysts.
• Contribute to dependable client service by supporting strong relationships through accurate, timely analytics work.

Modea values curiosity, adaptability, and strong communication. Successful analysts are comfortable asking questions, exploring ad hoc requests, learning new tools and datasets, and presenting findings clearly in spoken, written, and visual formats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of experience in digital analytics, search marketing, or a similar analytical field; relevant internship experience counts.
• Basic understanding of data analysis concepts such as cleaning, transformation, and interpretation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an interest in explaining data in a clear, conversational way.
• Exposure to or certification in GA4 and Google Tag Manager is preferred.
• Interest in enterprise analytics platforms such as Heap, Tealium, Freshpaint, or Adobe CJA is a plus.
• Basic hands-on experience or coursework in SQL, R, and/or Python is preferred, along with a willingness to keep learning.
• Interest in the relationship between organic search, user behavior, and digital product experience.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving agency or consulting setting.

Work environment and location

This role is based in Roanoke, Virginia, and Modea states that employees can work from any location in Virginia, Tennessee, or North Carolina unless the job requires otherwise. The company also has a modern office in Blacksburg, Virginia. Work arrangements may be fully office-based, fully remote, or hybrid. Occasional travel to offices or client locations may be needed for training or client visits. Equipment is provided for both home and office work.

Physical requirements

The role requires the ability to remain seated for most of the workday, use a computer continuously, communicate with clients and coworkers in person and through digital tools, and occasionally carry items weighing 10 pounds or less.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $54,157 to $72,351 per year. The company notes that actual starting pay may differ based on experience, qualifications, specific skills, internal pay alignment, and business needs.
