Customer Delivery Driver - Yate Extra

Role Overview

Join Tesco as a Customer Delivery Driver based in Yate, where you will be the primary representative of our service on the road. This position is more than just driving; it involves delivering exceptional customer service with a friendly approach, assisting customers directly at their homes. The job is physically active, varied, and involves independent work throughout the day, supported by a responsive team at the base.

• Tuesday: 16:00 - 23:00
• Wednesday: 17:00 - 23:00
• Friday: 16:00 - 23:00
• Saturday: 16:00 - 23:00

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery van, trays, and workstation to ensure all groceries are delivered in excellent condition.
• Load the vehicle safely and conduct necessary checks to confirm the van’s roadworthiness and reliability.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding any changes in orders, substitutions, or near-expiry products, providing refunds when applicable to maintain a positive customer experience.
• Handle the groceries with care, treating every order as if it were personal to uphold product quality and customer trust.
• Deliver orders within the specified customer time slot, offering warm and genuine service to leave customers feeling appreciated.

Candidate Requirements

• Establish strong relationships with team members to promote a positive work environment and optimal service delivery.
• Exhibit a friendly and welcoming demeanour towards customers and colleagues alike.
• Adapt proactively to customer needs and embrace changes encountered during deliveries and in-store.
• Hold a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points; licences can be full or automatic.
