Customer Delivery Driver

Role Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver at Tesco in Stornoway, you will be the primary representative meeting customers at their homes daily. This position involves more than just driving; it's about providing excellent service with a friendly attitude. The work is hands-on, physically engaging, and varied with no two shifts alike. You will spend much of your time working independently, supported by a team of managers and colleagues based at the depot as needed.

Working Hours

• Sunday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Thursday: 8:45 AM to 8:45 PM
• Friday: 8:45 AM to 8:45 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and work area to ensure every delivery reaches the customer in excellent condition.
• Load the van safely and carry out all necessary safety and roadworthiness checks to guarantee reliable service.
• Communicate with customers courteously about any order adjustments, product substitutions, or short-dated items, and process refunds when required to ensure a smooth experience.
• Handle products attentively, caring for each order as if it were your own to preserve quality and build customer trust.
• Deliver orders within scheduled time slots providing warm, genuine service that makes customers feel valued.

Candidate Requirements

• Build positive relationships with colleagues to foster a supportive team environment and deliver excellent customer service.
• Display a friendly and welcoming demeanor towards both customers and team members.
• Adapt quickly to evolving customer needs and embrace changes while working on the road and at the store.
• Possess a valid UK, EU, or EEA full driving licence (manual or automatic) held for at least 12 months, with no more than three penalty points.
