Overview

Typical Workday and Shift Details

The retail environment is dynamic, so a 'normal' day varies. Customer Assistants work across multiple shifts and tasks, contributing to a vibrant team environment. This role involves selling alcohol, so applicants must be 18 years or older.

• Morning Shift: Starts at 5am or 6am, involving stocking award-winning products and preparing bakery items before store opening.
• Middle Shift: Begins mid-morning or early afternoon, focusing on maintaining store cleanliness, product freshness, assisting customers on the floor, and managing tills to reduce queues.
• Late Shift: Starts in the afternoon, ensuring excellent customer service at tills, replenishing stock, and readying the store for the subsequent day.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with customers courteously, ensuring friendly and helpful interactions.
• Adhere to stock loss prevention controls throughout the store.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards both inside and outside the store.
• Implement freshness and stock rotation procedures diligently.
• Manage waste disposal correctly.
• Support periodic stocktaking exercises.

Compensation and Benefits

Lidl ensures fair and competitive pay with transparent structures guaranteeing equality across roles. Hourly rates start at €15.40 and increase up to €17.90 after three years, with additional pay for unsocial hours, overtime, Sundays, and bank holidays.

• Standard Hourly Rates by Year:
• Year 1: €15.40 (Basic), €19.25 (Unsocial hours), €23.10 (Overtime/Sundays), €30.80 (Bank Holidays)
• Year 2: €16.20 (Basic), €20.25 (Unsocial hours), €24.30 (Overtime/Sundays), €32.40 (Bank Holidays)
• Year 3: €16.90 (Basic), €21.13 (Unsocial hours), €25.35 (Overtime/Sundays), €33.80 (Bank Holidays)
• Year 4: €17.90 (Basic), €22.38 (Unsocial hours), €26.85 (Overtime/Sundays), €35.80 (Bank Holidays)
