About the Role
Amentum is seeking a full-time Custodial Service Assistant to join its team in Alice Springs, Northern Territory. This position offers a supportive, community-oriented working atmosphere and a balanced schedule, ideal for individuals looking to maintain a healthy work-life dynamic.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform custodial duties within the Operations Building, Technical, and Support areas.
- Manage laundry services for Temporary Quarter (TQ) accommodations.
- Use custodial equipment to polish floors and steam clean carpets effectively.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to all site users.
- Regularly dust surfaces and remove cobwebs.
- Collect and dispose of rubbish from TQs and facilities across the Operations, Technical, and Support zones.
- Replenish supplies necessary for maintaining TQs and other work areas.
- Maintain accurate inventory of custodial supplies and tools.
- Adhere to and uphold all health and safety regulations within the workplace.
- Carry out additional reasonable tasks as assigned.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
The position typically involves working in a standard office setting without unusual hazards. Physical activities include occasional lifting of items up to 10 kilograms, kneeling, standing, walking, sitting for extended periods, and constant verbal communication. The role requires strong mental focus, the ability to meet deadlines, and maintain alertness throughout the workday.
Candidate Requirements
- Three to five years of experience in hospitality or industrial custodial services.
- Mandatory security clearance: TS/SCI (U.S.) clearance with polygraph examination.
- Certificates in Health Support Services and Hospitality are essential.
- An undergraduate degree in Hospitality is advantageous but not required.
Additional Information
This is a safety-sensitive position requiring strict adherence to drug-free workplace policies. Employment depends on successful completion of pre-employment drug screening, which may include testing for marijuana and other federally controlled substances due to federal contracting regulations.
All employees must actively contribute to maintaining a safe workplace, participate in safety training and committees, and help fulfill emergency response duties. Commitment to quality management is required, ensuring all work meets customer and company expectations under prescribed quality and procedural standards.

Work Schedule
