Role Overview

We are seeking a Credit Controller based in New Zealand for a 12-month contract. Reporting to the Senior Credit Controller – NZ, you will manage credit control activities for the New Zealand customer portfolio, facilitating cash collections, credit risk assessment, and streamlining the order-to-cash process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage outstanding customer debts to ensure timely payments aligned with credit terms and collection objectives.
  • Perform credit evaluations, oversee credit limits, and escalate credit risks when necessary.
  • Assist with order-to-cash workflows including order release on credit holds and retrieving relevant documents.
  • Maintain precise account reconciliations and handle customer inquiries including processing credit notes and adjustments.
  • Support monthly accounts receivable closing, reporting, and compliance duties.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing aged debt and enhancing Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).

Qualifications and Experience

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or Credit Control roles.
  • Proficiency in account reconciliation and managing aged debts.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills for effective customer engagement.
  • Familiarity with ERP financial systems such as JD Edwards.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform well under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer-oriented with analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or distribution sectors is advantageous.
