Role overview
This position is for an interview stage courier role focused on the courteous, efficient collection and delivery of packages along a designated route. The job also includes checking shipments to ensure they meet Federal Express Canada service standards and handling related customer service tasks.
Key duties
- Pick up and deliver packages efficiently on an assigned route.
- Verify that shipments comply with Federal Express Canada service requirements.
- Carry out customer service support linked to deliveries and pickups.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.
- A valid driver’s licence with a strong driving history is mandatory.
- You must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and move packages weighing as much as 150 lbs using the proper equipment.
- At least one year of customer-facing business experience is preferred.
- You need to meet the minimum score on the required pre-placement driver assessment training.
- Familiarity with FedEx Canada operations and Canadian customs rules is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal ability are important.
- You should be well organised, manage time effectively, and stay calm under pressure.
- Excellent customer service skills are expected.
- You need to be able to handle multiple tasks, work under stress, and adapt to changing business needs.
- Flexibility to work different shifts and holidays is required.
Schedule and employment details
This is a full-time permanent field position. The schedule runs Monday to Friday, starting at 8:00 am.
Additional requirements
- Successful completion of all mandatory testing and training is expected.
- You must be able to work in a Windows PC environment.
- Ongoing refresher training must be completed successfully, and annual accreditations must be maintained where required.
- Work hours may vary depending on business requirements.
- If you live in Quebec, bilingual ability in French and English is required.
- For roles where driving is a core responsibility, a valid driver’s licence such as Class 5, G, or 1[AZ] is needed, along with no more than two violations and/or accidents in the 24 months before application.
- Assessment for these roles also considers your current driver abstract, interview performance, and any driver competency tests.
