Corporate Quality Manager

Overview

The Corporate Quality Manager at Omega Tool Corp will strategically lead the company’s quality departments, ensuring cohesive alignment among customer quality, supplier quality, program quality, and manufacturing quality. The role focuses on developing, executing, and sustaining manufacturing and production standards that satisfy customer expectations and internal benchmarks. This position entails managing quality metrics, standard operating procedures, program schedules, strategic deliverables, and readiness of tools and parts approvals. Compliance with provincial/federal regulations, health and safety guidelines, and adherence to company policies including QMS/ISO 9001/IATF 16949 standards is mandatory.

Key Duties

• Direct the establishment and implementation of corporate quality metrics and oversee training for the quality team.
• Identify research and development opportunities and manage the appropriate documentation.
• Assist in selecting critical or special product characteristics.
• Champion the use of core quality management tools to maintain system effectiveness.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, production, engineering, and other teams to execute robust quality strategies supporting schedules and launch plans, involving risk assessments, action plans, continuous improvements, and KPI reporting.
• Lead risk evaluations, including PFMEA scheduling and updates, quality system compliance, traceability, and workforce training.
• Manage internal and external quality issues promptly.
• Conduct management review meetings focused on quality performance.
• Lead internal and external audits as well as ensure conformance to customer and regulatory audits.
• Handle confidential information with utmost professionalism.
• Oversee warranty tracking, root cause analyses, and resolutions.
• Maintain corporate Quality Management System procedures.
• Engage with customer locations and foster strong working relationships.
• Supervise and develop the quality team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Expertise and Abilities

• Over 10 years experience in managing manufacturing quality management systems.
• Minimum 5 years leading quality teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Practical experience with new program pre-production, in-process verification, launch, validation, and regular production.
• Direct background in injection molding, precision machining, or tooling and molding environments.
• Proficient knowledge in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to enhance quality.
• Experience serving as primary contact during IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 audits; internal auditor certification preferred.
• Strong background in problem-solving techniques such as 8D, Red-X, Kaizen, and Six Sigma, with certification considered advantageous.
• Knowledge of Lean and world-class manufacturing methodologies.
• Exceptional leadership and team building qualities, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work independently and in high-pressure teams.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for customer reviews and audits.
• Understanding of business and management principles including continuous improvement, strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership methods, and production coordination.
• Effective time management, organization, and prioritization capabilities to meet deadlines while ensuring accuracy.
• Adaptability and positive approach to changes.
• Decision-making skills with the ability to analyze partial information while mitigating risks.
• Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Office.

Compensation

The salary for this role ranges between $110,000 and $130,000 annually.
