Job description
Position Overview
The role of Contractor Safety Compliance Auditor for Stations Electrical and Civils is dedicated to fostering a culture of safety among contractors working within stations electrical and civil domains, striving to make safe practices routine and supporting the goal of zero lost time injuries across the business unit.
Key Duties
- Plan and perform safety and quality audits according to established schedules, providing feedback to both staff and contractors on audit outcomes.
- Offer guidance and coaching to contractors to elevate safety standards, training adherence, and overall performance.
- Assist the Contractor Approvals Team Leader in evolving the CPG Safety strategy ensuring that safety training and evaluation processes align with contractor delivery tactics.
- Carry out safety and technical evaluations for all contractors within the Stations framework.
- Utilize relevant IT tools and systems for efficient daily management of safety compliance activities.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders both inside and outside the organization.
- Deliver prompt and clear communication to contractors and encourage their feedback.
- Track and report progress regarding crucial safety activities.
- Adapt to additional assignments as they arise.
- Shape and influence company safety policies and procedures.
- Uphold the values outlined in ESB's Code of Ethics, known as “Our Code.”
Required Expertise and Skills
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in Stations operations.
- Comprehensive familiarity with company standards relevant to high voltage substations.
- In-depth understanding of ESB Stations Network Assets and the ESBN Safety Rules and Procedures.
- Knowledge of ESB Networks' operational frameworks and business environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal capabilities.
- Possession of a valid, full clean driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ESB IT systems and applications.
- Background in managing contractors and service providers.
- Know-how regarding arboriculture timber cutting standards and corresponding safety guidelines.
Educational Credentials
An Advanced Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate or an equivalent Level 7 or higher credential in Electrical, Electrical Services, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines that encompass substantial electrical theory are required.
Location and Work Arrangements
This role serves a national scope with flexible base location arrangements within Ireland. The job involves regular nationwide travel. The company supports hybrid work practices, expecting in-person collaboration on site at least twice a week, with flexibility leveraged through digital tools aligned with operational needs.
Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the Contractor Safety Compliance Team Lead.

Salary and Application Details
The position offers an annual salary ranging from €55,000 to €70,000. Applications will be considered until 24th August 2026.
Interview Process
