Role Summary
Join the Infrastructure team at CIMA+ to contribute to the successful delivery of municipal water and wastewater projects that enhance community infrastructure across the Greater Toronto Area. As a Contract Administrator, you will collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and site professionals to oversee contract administration, manage risks, and assess compliance with RFPs and contractual obligations, aligning with client and regulatory requirements. This role supports a flexible hybrid work model with both office and remote work options within the GTA.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and interpret construction contracts to ensure adherence to terms and conditions.
- Evaluate project progress, prepare payment certifications, and authorize payments accordingly.
- Assess, recommend, and resolve contract change requests and claims, managing change control processes efficiently.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address Requests for Information (RFIs), change requests, claims, and any contractual disputes.
- Monitor construction progress ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
- Troubleshoot issues on-site in partnership with the project team to reach practical resolutions.
- Identify risks associated with projects and suggest feasible mitigation strategies.
- Lead construction progress meetings and document minutes comprehensively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, municipal authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Support additional project duties contributing to the overall success of the Infrastructure Field Services team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience managing contracts in the construction or reconstruction of water and wastewater infrastructure, including treatment, supply, storage, distribution, and collection systems.
- Thorough knowledge of construction contract administration encompassing contract interpretation, change management, claims handling, scheduling, and dispute resolution.
- Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) licensure or Certified Civil Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) certification is a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a positive mindset.
- Background in project planning, risk and cost management, schedule oversight, and drafting/administration of contract documentation and specifications.
- Proficient in interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Ability to work autonomously and also contribute effectively within a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
- Valid MTO Class ‘G’ driver’s license in good standing and access to a personal vehicle.
- Exceptional communication skills for interactions with staff, contractors, and public stakeholders.
- Knowledge of current traffic control regulations and environmental, municipal, and local regulatory requirements.
- Familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Ontario Provincial Standards and Specifications (OPSS) applicable to municipal projects.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with MS Project, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar construction management software is advantageous.
