Construction Project Engineer

About the Role

Gemini Building & Contracting is on the lookout for a meticulous and well-organized Project Engineer to become a vital part of our expanding team in the UAE. The successful candidate will be pivotal in planning, overseeing, monitoring, and executing construction projects while strictly adhering to technical specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Scheduling: Define project scope based on client requirements and blueprints, develop detailed schedules using tools like Gantt charts or CPM software, and allocate necessary manpower, equipment, and materials. Review and submit Master Service Agreements (MSA) and shop drawings.
• Technical Design & Integration: Inspect engineering plans and drawings for accuracy and compliance, manage Requests for Information (RFIs) by coordinating between field teams and design engineers, and ensure submitted materials and equipment comply with engineering specifications.
• Cost Control & Budgeting: Contribute to initial project bid preparations and cost estimates, track expenses regularly to avoid budget overspending, and manage change orders including review, negotiation, and documentation affecting scope or timelines.
• Communication & Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary contact point between project managers, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and senior leadership. Prepare project status reports and dashboards, and lead coordination meetings to resolve issues and streamline team efforts.
• Quality Assurance & Safety: Conduct routine site and factory inspections to verify adherence to approved designs, ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental safety protocols, and supervise final testing, commissioning, and project handover procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

• A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in construction project coordination or engineering within the UAE construction sector.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project reporting tools.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities efficiently in a dynamic construction environment.
