Construction Planner

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Planner to join a reputable contractor known for executing large, complex construction projects across Ireland. In this role, you will be integral in planning, monitoring, and ensuring the successful delivery of major construction works from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, manage, and update comprehensive project schedules throughout all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Track actual progress versus planned activities and identify potential risks or delays to the project timeline.
• Generate regular progress reports—weekly, monthly, and as needed—for both internal teams and clients.
• Evaluate causes of project delays and propose strategies to mitigate them effectively.
• Maintain baseline programmes and oversee necessary revisions.
• Analyze subcontractors’ programmes covering design, procurement, and construction phases.
• Develop and sustain Construction Master Programmes alongside Target and Working Programmes.
• Break down the main programmes into specific components such as Shell & Core, Fit-Out, MEP, and Landscaping.
• Monitor sectional handovers and associated documentation.
• Regularly update Sablono software on a weekly schedule.
• Provide mentorship and support to new team members on programme management tools and systems.
• Offer planning assistance on other projects as required.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience as a Planner within the construction sector.
• Deep understanding of construction processes and project delivery methods.
• Demonstrated ability to produce and manage construction programmes from project inception through completion.
• Essential proficiency in Asta Powerproject software.
• Familiarity with Sablono is a strong advantage.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication capabilities.
• Strong multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Comfortable working collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, and clients.
