Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Compliance and Documentation Manager to oversee the administration and successful delivery of all regulatory consents, compliance documentation, certifications, and project handover requirements on a major construction project.

Serving as the central liaison for all compliance and documentation matters, you will collaborate with various teams including delivery, commercial, engineering, quality, commissioning, design, and consultants to ensure comprehensive collection, monitoring, review, and timely submission of documents to clients and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain timelines for Building Consents, Resource Consents, and other regulatory submissions.
  • Facilitate coordination of documentation submissions to councils, clients, and authorities.
  • Proactively track approval progress, liaising with councils and partners to resolve compliance issues.
  • Organize inspections, audits, and project close-out activities.
  • Manage registers and reporting systems for compliance matters, escalating issues as required.
  • Serve as central custodian of all compliance and certification documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate contributions from multiple project teams including delivery, engineering, commissioning, and quality.
  • Utilize Aconex platform to maintain project documentation, workflows, and approvals.
  • Oversee control and submission of documentation for Minor Variations and coordinate their approval processes.
  • Handle certification applications such as Certificates for Public Use, Code Compliance Certificates, and Schedule 6 documentation.
  • Establish and manage schedules for Operations & Maintenance Manual preparation and submission.
  • Support project practical completion and handover by compiling and verifying all final documentation including manuals, as-built drawings, warranties, and compliance certifications.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction compliance, regulatory approvals, documentation, or related fields.
  • Experience on large-scale commercial, infrastructure, or complex construction projects.
  • In-depth understanding of New Zealand’s building consent and regulatory approval procedures.
  • Skilled in managing extensive documentation across multiple departments and stakeholders.
  • Proficient with Aconex and Microsoft Office, alongside various reporting tools.
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, and coordination capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset towards problem-solving.
